About me

Hello, My name is Paityn and I appreciate your time! I have been playing softball since I was 11 years old. Softball has been a huge part of my life and I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunities it has brought about. When I am on the field, my goal is to get 1% better every time. Softball has allowed me to challenge myself and push me outside my comfort zone. As a player I am dedicated to making every ball my ball if I have any chance of getting to it. On and off the field, I am a positive hardworking person. I try to be the loudest in the dugout and I always find my purpose in a game even when I am not in the field. Looking to the future I want to be on a team that will continue to challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone. I want a team who will support me through every step and who will lift me up when I'm feeling down. I am the teammate that you can talk to if you need to, and I will always listen attentively while doing what I can to make you feel better.

For both high school and travel ball, I mainly play right field but have played all three outfield positions.  In the outfield, I am quick to getting a jump on the ball as soon as it is hit, and I have worked really hard on tracking and knowing where the ball is headed. As a freshman I was grateful to be the starting right fielder for the varsity team at Post Falls High School. As a freshman I was also honored to receive the letter award as well as the scholar athlete award. My first high school softball season allowed me to get a lot of action in the outfield and I have become a much better player while playing with older girls and learning from new teammates, as well as experiencing a new form of coaching. As far as academics, as a freshman I was enrolled in three honors classes including English, Science, and Math and will continue to stay enrolled in these honors classes as well as extra honors courses throughout high school. I was awarded the academic letter award, and the highest honors award for achieving a GPA of 4.2.

Looking to the future I am interested in studying zoology/wildlife biology. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had a deep love for animals. It started when we had a dog and ever since I could not live without them. As I grow older, I realize that there are many problems with wildlife on our planet, and I would love to be a person of change in protecting these animals. I enjoy learning about different species of animals and how they act and live. I would love to study how animals interact with one another as well as their ecosystems, to know how to help them live better lives and keep them protected as much as possible.
